Your gets are insane. I’m seriously considering paying.

If your 4th guest is Katie H I will buy the platinum package.

Moynihan, when you said that you were changing the direction or emphasis (I can’t recall how you said it, I’m no Andrew Wimsatt, RIP) of the show, I figured it was a regroup and then would be more or less kind of the same.

Holy shit was I wrong. This episode and all of the new episodes are absolutely fantastic. It reminds me a bit of Gilbert Gottfried’s podcast in the best possible way. Guests with amazing stories to tell who no one else is talking to, talking with someone who actually gives a shit.

I would however appreciate it if you could start referencing Caesar Romero’s sexual proclivities more often. Thank you.

Michael, you are really hitting it out of the park with this Season Two onslaught. Decline II is one of my faves of all time, and formative as hell!

Kind of shocked you don’t know Werner Erhard (Paul Rosenberg, of course) and Erhard Seminars Training (est). Seminal 1970s Me decade figure and Scientology competitor. One of the OG cult leaders out of California.

Awesome interview… somewhat intriguing that the other two arguably most famous Greek-descended women in Hollywood were standout targets of her ire. Not sure what to make of that.

Gen Z here. I had never heard of Penelope before watching, and had to google most of the films you referenced, but that was insane. The boyfriend??! I’m definitely going to keep an eye out for her memoir!! And I’m very sad that I’ll likely never get to hear Jennifer Anniston’s rebuttal to the dildo debacle

…and William Shatner, the rules have changed. Take my subscription money, sir! (Pardon the boomer tech fail)

You are a very sensible man, Ken

I rarely listen to a podcast episode more than once, but between Penelope Spheeris

An aside... I really had you down more of a punk, new-wave, alternative 80s guy. Never pegged you as hair metal.

It was a very, very brief period. 7th and 8th grade!!! And then it was on to hardcore (Gorilla Biscuits! Sick of it All!), punk (DKs! The Clash!), post-punk (Television! Gang of Four), and what was once called "college rock"...

That would be "university rock" in Canada ... Smiths, New Order, Elvis Costello, Echo and the Bunnymen.

What a tremendous episode, 3 for 3 Sir, great stuff. The Metal movie was a big watch back in my teen years, Being a kid and hanging out in VIP at Limelight in 80's and getting to meet many of these characters was something. But being from NY we always despised the CA "Punk" scene as dopey, unoriginal and terrible (Fucking Bay Area slop) (and would lead to horrid worlds like speed/death metal etc...) and decline spotlighting the dope Darby (We are speaking ill of the dead here yeah?) just proved we where right. (Worst part of an excellent Soundtrack is the Germs songs on "Cruising" soundtrack) There was a handful of them that we listened to, Dead Kennedy's (1st singles and lp only, buffoonery followed after that) The fantastic Gun Club (Runaways aren't a part of this in my book. some say they are) Hated X (Liked Billy Zoom and John Doe though) , anything with Keith Morris attached is misery, Social D etc... We are very egotisical us Gen Xer's from the east coast, It was perfectly said by Mary Woronov from the Velvets Doc when she described (with pure disgust) touring to west coast"Once you cross the Mississippi, everything turns to shit." She's not wrong, I been here 36 years now, its shit.
